Editorial Final Draft
Recently the F.B.I’s most wanted man was killed. He was labeled deceased under the list. The 25 Million was never granted. This is because a US Navy seal eliminated him. While most of the world celebrated, In the middle of this celebration however. There was anger in people’s eyes. Mostly terrorists or al qaeda followers. Among these people the country of Pakistan was unhappy. They were not unhappy because Osama was killed. They were unhappy because of the way the operation was executed. For many years Pakistan has been allies with US in the fight against terror. Recently they were not informed that the US had eyes on Osama Bin Laden. The US has doubts about Pakistan’s trust .This is because Osama was found less than 30 miles away from a notorious military base. I agree with the US in there action of not telling Pakistan. The operation was so sensitive that no one could be trusted. This could have been our only opportunity to eliminate or capture him. Also based on Pakistan’s actions it is hard to tell if Pakistan can be trusted. Even though I agree with the secretive way the operation was handled. I also think that the US and Pakistan alike should be careful with the statements that they say. If both countries are not careful a war may be started. Another war is the last thing we need with our economy. I also believe that we should be very selective regarding who we trust. When it comes to terrorists it is very hard to trust Middle East countries. So even though they are unhappy they should fully understand the circumstances. The only thing that I disagree with is the way Osama was killed. I feel like Osama could have been captured. Other than that al qaeda does not have a leader so this may cause confusion with in them. This overall operation is going to change the way that treaties with other countries are made. We will be a lot more selective in who we trust. Operations like these will continue to occur.

Story # 2 Final Draft
It is said that as we grow older time flies by faster and faster. Looking back this common myth, seems eerily true. I can still remember Sitting in front of Dr. Peterson and hearing him say, “I always love looking at all of your faces because these next four years are going to go by quickly. He was amazingly right. Not too long ago we were scared 8th graders. Unaware of what was to come, we sat and listened.
As summer quickly drew to a close and the first day of school rolled around excitement was in the air. We proceeded to our homerooms and they let us know where we were going. Excited to see new faces and learn new things, and the first year was over. The rest of the following years went faster and faster, maybe almost too fast. There were times when I got sick of all the homework and wanted summer to come along. Now I still want summer to come along but I wish it weren’t so soon. This may sound crazy to some, however thinking about it. There are so many people that will never again be seen. Many of us will go on to do extraordinary things.
Most of us are going on to College in hopes of accomplishing our dreams of having an awesome career. Or doing what we like to do. Some are going to different states, many are staying in Minnesota. Knowing that college is soon about to begin. I feel like the 8TH grader that I used to be. Just watching sitting there in those big seats, not knowing what the future is holding. Except this time we are all on our own. Separated from the people we went to middle school with. In college it is possible that we may not know anyone. Some people are horrified by the thought of this. I honestly like meeting new people. So this will not be an issue.
Many of us have our plans already set. We know what we want to do and how where going to do it. Now all we need to do is acquire the proper knowledge on the subject. When asked what his plans were Hunter said, “Get a good job and something in business and marketing. This career choice is common among many people. Even though plans are set, we should always keep in mind that plans could change. Things could come up. I have personally changed my career plans many times. I am very undeceive so making a life decision of where I am going to college and what I am going to do has changed many times. Now I want to study international business and psychology. Maybe eventually become a lawyer. I really don’t know.
Sure studying maybe stressful but college is going to be an amazing experience. When asked how he felt about going to college Hunter said,” Excited to get away from my parents, because I will have freedom; I will still miss them though. Garrett Running also stated that he is looking forward to more freedom. The cliché saying that with great freedom comes great responsibility, Is true in this situation. I mean I have to be really honest, I know a few people that I am a little bit worried about. I am worried that they may not be able to survive on their own. college isn't all about being successful socially, rather, it is about being successful academically. Your freshman year is your most crucial year of college. For many, it makes them or breaks them as college students. Students who walk onto campus their freshman year thinking that college is one big party are in for a rude awakening.
It is no question that college will be what ever you make it. Freedom will feel great but the more freedom you have the more responsibility that you have.
College is more then just your education it is also about the experiences. Connections you make and goals that you accomplish. It is said that if you can make it past your first college year. You can make it through the rest of the years. The first year will make or break your college experience.
In college I plan on changing a few things. Among these things I want to procrastinate a lot less. This is probably my biggest weakness. In college this will be the first thing that I will try to eliminate. I also need to focus on academics a lot more I want to make academics one of my main focuses. I am looking forward to a lot of things in college. However I am not looking forward to all the late night studying that will probably occur.
I think that it is a good idea to go to college with an open mind. I can’t have mind sets about how college is going to be. I just gotta go with the flow of it and see what happens. Often times when you have a mind set about something it my not be what you thought it was going to be like. Or it may even be better so its best if you do everything with an open mind.
All in all I can not believe how fast my high school years flew by. The eerie thought that college will fly by at the same speed is amazing. I will never forget those words that Dr. Peterson said. The high school memories will be with me for ever. I can not wait to see what great things that we all do with our lives. I hope that each and everyone of our dreams comes true. There are millions of paths we can take. It is impossible to predict the future so we will never know what tomorrow holds. The only thing that we can be sure about is the present. So when we all move on and grow up. Lets never forget what we wanted to be. Lets always think about our actions and if we one day have power lets make sure that we are doing the right thing.

It is no secret that there are dangers around us but based on statistics there are more dangers on the ground then in the air. Lately there have been increased reports of air traffic controllers falling asleep while working. Flight regulators are starting to establish regulations that maintain the safety of the flyer's.
There have been reports of planes blindly landing and almost crashing into other planes. Occurring because the towers are failing to guide the plane. putting it in perspective flight controllers have the lives of hundreds of flyer's in their hands.
Flyer's have stated that they are a little scared. People like Garrett; that have to often fly say that they are scared, but if fling is a requirement there is no option. Many people have to travel for work every day. Some work in other states and have to travel daily
Air traffic controller Tyler stated that "often times long nights have to be worked and you are by yourself and no breaks are granted staying awake is a struggle" statements like these deter many travelers. Others like Hunter say "less accidents still occur in planes then in cars" The notorious “Rattler shifts” are the most risky. These are two in one shifts were a day shift followed by a midnight shift in a 24- hour period occurs.
If travelers are scared we can only imagine how pilots feel; knowing that they may have to blindly land a plane. Not to mention knowing that they have a plane full of passengers or the fear of hitting another plane.
There is no room for ifs’ in this field and there is absolute no room for any error. Everything has to be perfect every time. In the last few years airlines have been impacted with business threatening situations. Events like 9-11 have taken a toll on airlines. Increasing gas prices are also affecting airline sales. The most recent event affecting them is “the eyes in the sky” falling asleep. Earlier this week a manager was demoted for aborting the landing of Michael Obamas’ plane. He went back to his position as an assistant manager. This event shows how serious any mistake is.
Shift makers don’t take into account that flight controllers have a life. They often don’t have time to rest in the day. Events like caring for the family or doing chores can get in the way of rest. Airports have different traffic levels. The airport in Chicago has hundreds of planes landing every day.
There is less danger here because controllers are always vigilant and with others. Surprisingly there is more danger in slow airports. This is because controllers are often alone. F.A.A has begun to implemented new rules to reduce the risk of fatigue. Rules like a 20 minute break before shifts. Longer breaks in between shifts and during shifts have been applied. The speaker for the F.A.A stated that this is an embarrassment to controllers every were. There should be no reason why controllers should be falling asleep. This cannot continue and actions will be taken.
The F.A.A is continuing to implement rules that will insure the security of everyone including pilots, travelers, and everyone else involved. However uncertainty that this may not be enough is still there. Security measures will continue to be implemented if things keep occurring. We can be sure that theyse things will start to occur less and less as technology and new rules are implemented. Many people benefit from the increased measures. So with so many people working hard every day there is no reason why this will continue to occur.

We can be sure that they things will start to occur less and less as technology and new rules are implemented. Many people benefit from the increased measures. So with so many people working hard every day there is no reason why this will continue to occur.
